MORE ABOUT JAY PETERVARY
JayP is one of the most experienced long distance fat bikers in the business. He started experimenting with his winter systems over a decade ago when there was no fat bike specific gear available. So he has a ton of knowledge to pass on to you. He lives in Teton Valley, Idaho and is no stranger to Rocky Mountain winters. He has raced the Arrowhead 135 five times and won it twice; raced the Iditarod Trail Invitational nine times and claimed multiple wins in both the 350 and 1000 mile distances; and is the director of the Fat Pursuit in Island Park, Idaho, called by some as the hardest fat bike race in the lower 48.
Thats right, JayP is a fat biking bad ass and more. But he is also passionate about sharing and teaching what he has learned over all those years and miles of riding in the snow. His experience is vast and he understands hands on teaching in smaller environments is the best way for others to learn - from a beginner to a more advanced rider he will give you vital and real insight on what you need to know. Guaranteed you will leave with a new passion and obsession for fat biking!
WORDS OF EXPERIENCE FROM TRACEY PETERVARY
Things that have gotten me through.
A positive attitude will take you far. You can do more than you think you can. Build confidence by testing and experimenting with your gear in real life scenarios, when the weather is at its worst, get out there! Learn how to take care of yourself when you are uncomfortable and don't want to deal. You must eat and drink in order to move forward, it's not always easy and it takes discipline.
Yes TrayP is also a fat biking bad ass and more. But with that status comes a wealth of experience that she loves to share with others just getting excited about fat biking and winter adventure.
