WHITEFISH BIKE RETREAT IS HIRING
The Whitefish Bike Retreat (WBR) has been in business for 8 years and continues to grow every year! Our reputation is known all over the world as having a beautiful and one-of-a-kind facility for adventurers/cyclists and the friendliest and most helpful staff to complete that experience! We are seeking highly motivated team players to join our 2020 Crew! WBR is located on the Whitefish Trail and surrounded by the Beaver Lake Recreation Area. We are located only 15 minutes outside of Whitefish and close to Glacier National Park, Whitefish Mountain Resort and Canada. We are in the heart of some of the most beautiful landscape Montana has to offer. Recreation opportunities abound here for visitors and employees who work and live here!
Our staff does a little of everything to keep the Retreat running efficiently in a high energy and ever changing environment. Our office/store is open 7 days a week from 9 AM – 6 PM. Staff is responsible for running and maintaining the WBR daily free shuttles to and from Whitefish, as well as longer distance custom shuttles. Assist with housekeeping duties as needed - we all pitch in on this to maintain the quality environment that the WBR has become known for. Staff will perform general property maintenance including trail/trail features work and repairs, weed control, firewood if and when needed.
We are very much like a family out here and work together hard to help our guests feel at home when they are visiting us. Must be a team player, be flexible, and have a passion for the bikes and helping others.

WBR Crew
Full Time Seasonal: May through Mid/End September
Hours: 40 hrs a week - Four 10 Hour Shifts a week, as well as additional hours as needed
Compensation: Hourly Wage DOE

They take direction from the Operations Manager and Assistant Manager and Owner, performing all duties in regard to operation of the Retreat. High paced environment at times and must be able to remain calm while performing duties.
Applicant/s must pass a background check and have a clean driving record.

HOUSING PROVIDED
WBR Staff do have the possibility of staying on property for work-trade of covering 2-3 on-call PM shifts per week. WBR maintains a 24hrs on-call presence on site during operating season. Housing options and PM shift details will be discussed during interviews. Tiny House and Camping onsite in camper vans are permitted for staff members if available.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Front Office Duties
- Checking Guests In and Out
- Answering Phone/Emails with knowledge of all Retreat Products and Events
- Take Reservations and Perform Reservation Changes as needed
- Processing bike rentals for guests
- POS for Camp Store & Retail Sales
- Maintaining Retreat Property
- Cleaning Campground Bathhouse
- Assist in Cleaning Bunk Lodge When Needed
- Stocking And Maintaining Retail Space
- Maintaining Trails and Bike Features
- Keeping Property Cleaned
- Splitting And Restocking Firewood
- Bike Related
- Provide guests with local trail information
- Coach/Teach guests on basic mountain bike or touring skills
- Maintaining our bike rental fleet and help with proper bike fittings
- Assisting with our Kids Day or other Events
- Driving Shuttles to Town or other locations for drop-off/pickup - Can included long distance shuttle with overnight stays
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working in hospitality or similar industries
- Experience and passion for mountain biking and/or bike touring
- Experience working with both kids and adults.
- Preferably experience teaching mountain biking or some other outdoor recreational activity.
- Valid Clean Driver's License
- Valid Passport
- 1st Aid/CPR required. WFR or higher preferred.
- Comfortable with multi-tasking and be self-motivated and detailed oriented
- Excellent communication skills with all levels of guests, co-workers and management; both verbally and in written form
- Proficient with computer skills including reservation and POS Systems
- Ability to deal effectively with difficult situations and diffuse calmly
